Zip ClientTerms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your use of the Zip Client launcher ("Zip") and the Zip website. Zip is produced by Krizuvo. By downloading, installing or using Zip, or by using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Zip.
1. What Zip is
Zip is a free desktop launcher for Windows that installs and starts Minecraft: Java Edition and compatible community projects, and manages instances, mods, resource packs, shaders and skins.
Zip is an independent, unofficial project. It is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or associated with Mojang AB or Microsoft Corporation. Zip does not include Minecraft. It downloads game files from Mojang's official servers for your own use.
2. Licence to use Zip
Krizuvo grants you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download, install and use Zip on devices you own or control, for personal purposes.
You may not sell Zip, distribute modified copies as if they were official releases, remove copyright or legal notices, or use the Zip or Krizuvo names or logos in a way that suggests endorsement. If Krizuvo publishes the source code under an open-source licence, that licence governs the source code and takes precedence over this section for the code it covers.
3. Your Minecraft account and game ownership
Playing online and on most servers requires a Microsoft account that owns Minecraft: Java Edition. You remain bound by the Minecraft End User License Agreement, the Minecraft Usage Guidelines and the Microsoft Services Agreement.
Microsoft sign-in happens on Microsoft's own website. Zip never asks for or stores your Microsoft password.
Offline profiles are for singleplayer and offline-mode servers only. You must not use Zip to play Minecraft without owning it or to bypass ownership checks, server bans or other protection measures.
4. Third-party services and content
Zip connects to third-party services when you use features that need them, including Microsoft, Mojang, Modrinth, CurseForge, the Fabric, Quilt, Forge and NeoForge project servers, Eclipse Adoptium and GitHub. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Mods, modpacks, resource packs, shaders, skins and the Horizon project are created by third parties. Krizuvo does not create, review or control them and is not responsible for their content, safety, licensing or behaviour. Install third-party content only from sources you trust and respect its licence.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Zip or the website to break the law, infringe intellectual property rights, distribute malware, attack or overload any service, circumvent security or licensing measures, or interfere with other players.
6. Updates
Zip can check the official Zip releases on GitHub for updates and ask whether you want to install them. Updates are only installed when their digital signature matches Zip's release key. You can skip an update or turn update checks off in Settings.
7. Availability and changes
Zip is provided free of charge. Krizuvo may change, suspend or discontinue Zip or any feature at any time. Third-party services may change or stop working without notice, which can affect features of Zip.
8. No warranty
To the extent permitted by law, Zip and the website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Back up your worlds and files regularly.
9. Limitation of liability
Because Zip is provided free of charge, Krizuvo is liable only for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
This limitation does not apply to liability for injury to life, body or health, to liability under mandatory product liability law, or to any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law of your country of residence.
10. Termination
You may stop using Zip at any time by uninstalling it. Krizuvo may end your licence if you materially breach these terms. Sections 4, 8, 9 and 11 continue to apply after termination.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union member state in which Krizuvo is established, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence. Consumers may bring proceedings in the courts of their place of residence.
12. Changes to these terms
Krizuvo may update these terms. The current version and its effective date are shown on the website and in Zip. If the terms change materially, Zip asks you to review and accept them again.
